SANTIAGO, República Dominicana.- La procuradora fiscal titular de Santiago, Luisa Fridania Liranzo Sánchez, confirmó que fue apresado en España, René Guzmán, un ex empleado del Ayuntamiento local, a quien las autoridades locales denunciaron ante el Ministerio Público, por presuntas irregularidades, en el manejo de cheques en el departamento de Recursos Humanos.
Tras ser contactada por la redacción de acento.com.do, en Santiago de los Caballeros, Liranzo Sánchez, dijo que ciertamente el denunciado por la Alcaldía, había sido apresado y que ahora lo que procede es iniciar los trámites para el proceso de extradición. Advirtió que no se sabe cuanto tarde este proceso, porque cada caso, tiene valoraciones distintas.
René Guzmán era el encargado del departamento de Recursos Humanos, en el Ayuntamiento de Santiago y según trascendió fue cancelado por las anomalías detectadas, pero de manera sorpresiva había salido del país.
El caso implica a otras personas, pero no han sido identificadas por las autoridades municipales, ni por los representantes del Ministerio Público, ante la inquietud de cuantos y quienes serían los demás involucrados en la denuncia hecha por los abogados de la Alcaldía, Jesús Sánchez y Fernando Ramírez, el 16 de febrero del 2018, la fiscal titular, Luisa Liranzo, sostiene que no puede ofrecen mayores detalles, porque es un asunto que está la fase de investigación.
“El proceso de la investigación, que se ha iniciado, es lo que va a determinar si hay más personas involucradas”, dijo la funcionaria del Ministerio Público.
Aunque de manera oficial no se han ofrecido detalles de las presuntas irregularidades, en las cuales habría incurrido Guzmán y otros empleados, de manera extraoficial, se ha hablado de unos RD$ 30 millones, en cheques, que según las denuncias habrían sido cambiado de manera fraudulenta. Además de Guzmán otros empleados del Ayuntamiento habrían sido suspendidos o cancelados y estarían en la investigación, que hacen los fiscales del Ministerio Público.
