Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.- El director de la Lotería Nacional, Luis Michel Dicent, informó este jueves de que entre 6 y 7 empleados de la institución fueron suspendidos tras un fraude millonario en el sorteo del pasado 1 de mayo, situación denunciada a la Procuraduría.
El fraude, cuyo monto total no ha sido cuantificado, “quebró por completo a hombres y mujeres” dedicados al negocio de las bancas de loterías, según explicó Dicent en rueda de prensa.
En dichas irregularidades estarían involucradas entre 30 y 50 personas, quienes forman parte “de una estructura” que funciona fuera y dentro de la Lotería Nacional Dominicana.
Entre ellos estarían algunos ciegos encargados de extraer los bolos de las tómbolas, muchos de los cuales tienen hasta 18 años trabajado en la institución, de acuerdo con lo explicado.
En sus declaraciones, Dicent afirmó que desde hace años propietarios de bancas habían informado de irregularidades de sorteos en fechas especiales, pero que no se había dado parte al Ministerio Público, lo que asegura ya hizo.
