Las Vegas (EE.UU.), 16 nov (EFE).- El talento emergente del dominicano Vicente García consiguió tres Grammy Latino, incluyendo el premio al mejor artista nuevo, en la 18 edición de los Grammy Latino, que se celebró este jueves en Las Vegas, en la que el fenómeno imparable de “Despacito”, el éxito firmado por Luis Fonsi y Daddy Yankee, hizo historia en la escena latina y en la música global, al llevarse cuatro galardones y ser coronada como la mejor canción y la mejor grabación del año.

De República Dominicana también puso en alto la isla el reconocido músico dominicano Michel Camilo, quien triunfó en la categoría Mejor Album Instrumental por la producción “Spain Forever” que hizo con el español Tomatito.

“Despacito” hizo un póker al llevarse el premio a la mejor fusión/interpretación urbana, por el remix junto a Justin Bieber, así como el galardón al mejor video musical versión corta por un clip que con más de 4.300 millones de visitas ostenta el récord absoluto de visionados en YouTube.

Las discotecas de todo el planeta han vibrado este año con “Despacito” y hoy Luis Fonsi compartió el extraordinario triunfo de este tema con el reguetonero Daddy Yankee y la compositora Erika Ender.

“¡Qué noche, qué noche! Gracias a la Academia. Que bendición, qué privilegio que nuestro trabajo sea hacer canciones y comunicarnos a través de la música”, afirmó.

En declaraciones ante los medios, Luis Fonsi se mostró orgulloso por representar a la música español “en el mundo entero” y aseguró que “Despacito” es “un himno a Puerto Rico”.

Toda una leyenda como el maestro de la salsa Rubén Blades dio la campanada al hacerse con el premio al álbum del año por su disco “Salsa Big Band”, su trabajo junto a Roberto Delgado y Orquesta.

“Estoy sumamente sorprendido y muy agradecido a las personas que hicieron esto posible”, señaló el panameño, que también ganó el premio al mejor disco de salsa, antes de defender que el éxito no es sólo “materia de una sola persona”.

Residente, que compareció como el favorito con nueve nominaciones, se llevó finalmente sólo dos galardones: mejor álbum urbano (“Residente”) y mejor canción urbana (“Somos anormales”).

También con dos gramófonos dorados cerraron la noche la mexicana Natalia Lafourcade y los colombianos Diamante Eléctrico.

A Residente le tocó el honor de dar el pistoletazo de salida a la ceremonia con “Hijos del cañaveral”, que dedicó a su patria: “La mayoría de estos músicos son puertorriqueños, muchos de ellos lo perdieron todo en la isla pero vinieron aquí con todo el corazón y con toda la fuerza a decirle al mundo que Puerto Rico no se levanta porque siempre ha estado en pie”.

El exmiembro de Calle 13 también reivindicó que el arte no es sólo algo cuantitativo basado en estadísticas de negocio.

“Los artistas no somos números, cifras, datos: hacemos cosas que sentimos y las tiramos al medio porque las sentimos con total honestidad”, proclamó Residente.

El aroma mexicano corrió por cuenta de Natalia Lafourcade, que junto a Los Macorinos y el mariachi Flor de Toloache bordó “Mexicana hermosa” y “Tú sabes quererme”.

Pero no fue la única muestra de la riqueza musical de México, ya que por las tablas también desfilaron Lila Downs, Banda el Recodo y Alejandro Fernández.

Los Grammy Latino no renunciaron a uno de los singles del año como “Felices los 4” y el colombiano Maluma la interpretó en el centro de una escenografía de estilo retro en blanco y negro.

Sus compatriotas Sebastián Yatra y Carlos Vives unieron sus fuerzas para cantar “Devuélveme el corazón” y “Robarte un beso”, con las que además mandaron un mensaje de solidaridad a los afectados por los desastres naturales en Puerto Rico y México.

Rubén Blades empapó Las Vegas de colores y sabores de salsa antes de que Alejandro Sanz recibiera el premio Persona del Año de los Grammy Latino.

El español lanzó un mensaje en defensa de los jóvenes indocumentados en Estados Unidos conocido como “dreamers”, en tanto que Lin-Manuel Miranda, que ganó el premio Presidencia de la Academia Latina por sus aportes a la comunidad, quiso recordar a la Casa Blanca que los puertorriqueños también son “seres humanos”

Juanes, que se anotó el Grammy Latino al mejor disco pop-rock por “Mis planes son amarte”, entonó junto a Alessia Cara y Logic la canción “1-800-273-8255” sobre la prevención de los suicidios.

Y con fuego sobre el escenario y una de las propuestas visuales más espectaculares de la ceremonia, el cuarteto estelar formado por J Balvin, Bad Bunny, French Montanna y Steve Aoki levantó al público con la energía de “Si tu novio te deja sola” y “Mi gente” como si fuera una discoteca en plena madrugada.

Con una sorprendente presentación inspirada en coloridas flores, la chilena Mon Laferte celebró su Grammy Latino a la mejor canción alternativa para el sensual y tropical tema “Amárrame”.

Por último, y como broche perfecto a la noche soñada de “Despacito”, Luis Fonsi clausuró la gran celebración de la música latina interpretando su canción junto a Bomba Estéreo, Víctor Manuelle y Diplo. EFE
