Esta composicion es un villancico del compositor Puertorriqueño. Tony Croatto, considerada como una de las mas emblemáticas y hermosas en su genero.
La misma retrata una problemática latente en el Caribe y toda la parte Latinoamericana como lo es la pobreza infantil y la violación de los derechos que les corresponden.
Según el portal digital ´´ el dinero ´´ en un reportaje de Winder Soto, la pobreza infantil, es un mal que se reproduce en la República Dominicana.

Datos oficiales del fondo de las naciones unidas ( unicef ) la República Dominicana ha experimentado una lenta, aunque constante reducción de la pobreza desde el inicio del siglo, no obstante, el ritmo de la disminución es inferior al de la poblacion en general.

La incidencia de la pobreza infantil en America Latina y el Caribe es de 45% y de un 17. 9% en pobreza extrema.
En el 2010, el 50.6% de la niñez del país equivalentes a 1.7 millones, vivían con necesidades básicas insatisfechas. Entre ellos, un 42. 1%, Equivalentes 722,000, vivían en el gran Santo Domingo, muy atrás se encontraba el Cibao Norte con 16.2% equivalentes a 279,000 y Valdesia con 14. 4 % equivalente a 247,000

La misma ( unicef ) ofrece los datos que en una escala de cero y diez, el país alcanza un indice de 4.1 en el cumplimiento de los derechos de la infancia, el indice de desarrollo humano se encuentra entre los 10 mas bajos de la región ( 0.663 ) y el 10% de las personas mas ricas tiene un ingreso 23 veces superior 40 % de los mas desfavorecidos.
