SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS, República Dominicana.-El presidente de la Cámara de Comercio y Producción de Santiago, Carlos Iglesias, se sumó a las voces que han reclamado que se mantenga la vigencia de la Ley 28-01 de incentivos fronterizos.
La legislación, que está destinada a alentar la instalación de negocios y a crear puestos de trabajo en las provincias fronterizas y aledañas, vencería este primero de febrero, aunque hay abogados, políticos y empresarios que afirman que la legislación no termina, sino los permisos particulares para las empresas que se acogieron a determinados incentivos con plazos determinados.
El empresario Carlos Iglesias dijo que es prudente mantener esta facilidad para mantener la estabilidad de los empleos que se han originado en provincias como Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón y Montecristi.
Agrega que la extensión de otros 20 ó 30 años de la ley ayudaría a que otras empresas importantes puedan presentar propuestas para establecerse en esa zona.
El empresario dijo que confía en que se inicien las conversaciones en la Cámara de Diputados para que se apruebe la siguiente ley de incentivos fronterizo.
Aduanas
El representante de la Cámara de Comercio de Santiago también valoró de positivo que las autoridades hayan decidido un horario 24 horas para las actividades de la dirección General de Aduanas.
Agregó que esta modalidad es propia de países desarrollados, que suman buenos resultados a la producción económica.
Aumentos materiales ferreteros
En otro aspecto, Iglesias dijo que ha habido aumento en los materiales de construcción, como cemento, varillas, porcelanato, acero, los pisos, tuberías PVC y otros, pero los atribuyó a incrementos derivados del costo de los fletes, como consecuencia de la limitaciones de movilidad por los efectos de la pandemia del coronavirus.
Dijo que en la actualidad, un flete, que costaba 2, 500 dólares ha subido a 8,000 ó 10, 000 dólares, aparte de que se ha desatado una competencia, debido a que la demanda de los contenedores es muy alta, tanto en europa como en Asia, específicamente en China
