SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS, República Dominicana.- “No al Bacuna, Ata el nuevo aviso”, se lee en un cartel improvisado en el local de club Gregorio Urbano Gilbert (GUG), en el Barrio Libertad, de Santiago, al que asisten a diario decenas de personas mayores de 68 años en procura de la protección contra el coronavirus.

Una vez allí, se enteran de que hay que esperar, que las dosis se terminaron, y son informados de ello gracias a ese cartel escrito por alguien que dio lo que tenía y quiso ayudar ante la falta de información oficial expedita.

Oficialmente nadie explica mucho más, al igual que en otros centros, donde se han escuchado quejas de personas que hicieron citas previas, como se les indicó, pero que alegan porque no ha habido una comunicación efectiva en cuanto a la relentización.

Solo unos pocos funcionarios del Ministerio de Salud Pública explican lo que creen que ocurre y afirman que el proceso se retomará una vez que lleguen a la República Dominicana los nuevos lotes de vacunas.

Manuel Lora Perelló, médico cardiólogo que dirige la Norcentral de Salud Pública, con sede en Santiago, afirmó que “las autoridades han hecho mucho” para afrontar el coronavirus tarea que, como de costumbre, el funcionario le atribuye éxito y de manera particular al presidente de la República, Luis Abinader.

El funcionario refiere que para iniciar una etapa nueva de vacunación se espera que sean traídas al país otros lotes gestionados, porque con las dosis que quedan se ha garantizado que serán vacunados con la segunda dosis los ciudadanos a los que ya se le aplicó en la primera fase.

“Estamos haciendo mucho. Recuérdese que el presidente ha hecho un compromiso desde el año pasado y compró por adelantado a AstraZeneca y a Pfizer, (pero) las dos empresas incumplieron y el presidente, en un empeño personal y de Estado, buscó un sustituto adecuado y con ese es que estamos trabajando y entonces hay que adaptarse a la programación de ese sustituto”, declaró Lora Perelló sobre las vacunas llegadas principalmente desde China.

El médico Jordy Disla, que representa la Región Tres del Ministerio de Salud Pública en Santiago, afirmó a su vez que en esta provincia se ha vacunado ya a unas 65 mil personas.

En relación a los ciudadanos que acuden a los puestos de vacunación y se quejan por la semiparalización del proceso, Disla explicó que se ha priorizado a los profesores para completar este proceso, “porque en abril habrá clases cara a cara”.

En el caso de Santiago, solo habrá clases presenciales en los municipios de Sabana Iglesia y Villa Bisonó (Navarrete), según informaciones del Ministerio de Educación. En estos lugares el nivel de contagio no excede el 5 %
