WHATSAPP, FACEBOOK E INSTAGRAM REGISTRAN CAÍDAS A NIVEL MUNDIAL

Los servicios de Facebook y las aplicaciones de su propiedad (Instagram, WhatsApp y Messenger) sufren este lunes caídas generalizadas en varias partes del mundo, denunciaron los propios usuarios a través del portal Downdetector.

Decenas de miles de internautas en Estados Unidos, México, España, Francia, Rumanía, Noruega, Georgia, Grecia y otros países acudieron al portal online para informar que no podían acceder a los servicios.

En el caso concreto de la popular aplicación de mensajería instantánea WhatsApp, cuando los usuarios envían mensajes, les aparece el mensaje “conectando” y el icono de un reloj, pero el contenido no llega a enviarse a su destinatario.

“Tenemos constancia de que hay personas que están teniendo problemas para acceder a nuestras aplicaciones y productos”, indicaron desde la firma que dirige Mark Zuckerberg en un comunicado.

“Estamos trabajando para devolver las cosas a la normalidad tan rápido como sea posible, y pedimos disculpas por cualquier inconveniente”, apuntaron desde la red social.

La caída generalizada de los servicios de Facebook se produce cuando la compañía se encuentra en medio de un fuerte escrutinio público tras la publicación en el diario The Wall Street Journal de una serie de artículos elaborados a partir de informes internos de la empresa.

Entre otras cosas, los documentos determinan que Instagram es perjudicial para una parte de sus usuarios más jóvenes y que resulta especialmente “tóxico” para las adolescentes, ya que “agrava” los problemas que una de cada tres chicas tiene de su imagen corporal.

En una entrevista en el programa televisivo “60 Minutes”, la exempleada de Facebook que filtró esa documentación a la prensa, Frances Haugen, explicó que durante su tiempo en la compañía, se “alarmó” por las decisiones que se estaban tomando, en las que “los beneficios se ponían por delante de la seguridad pública y se ponía en riesgo la vida de las personas”.
