“EL GÜIRERO NO ES MÚSICO”: JUAN BOSCH”

En mi niñez, cuando  yo   rayaba una hoja-lata picada o martillada por mí, queriendo hacer una güira, para tocar los temas de Blas  Durán, unos adultos,  me desencantaron con sus argumentos.

Me dijeron;  que Juan Bosch había dicho que el güirero no era músico. Yo que solo conocía a Bosch, de nombre y por ser el  candidato presidencial del PLD,  de quien  en mi campo se repetía que estaba loco, puse mucho casoa sus versiones y me abandoné  el instrumento, aunque tiempo después lo  retomé, cuando mi madre en la tienda de los  18, en la calle Duarte, de Los Alcarrizos,  me compró una güira, que costó  por cierto RD$ 18.00.00, lo mismo que un pantalón con rayas negras y un polo rojo, que me compraron en la referida tienda.

Viviendo en la calle 2 del  barrio Invi, en Los Alcarrizos, seguí rayando mi güira, de RD$ 18.00.00, ya ni recordaba aquello de que Juan Bosch había dicho que el güirero no era músico. Mi hermano mayor ya era un experto con el instrumento, para la época  media fuerza con un niño del  barrio, ese niño es Cristian, hoy uno de los líderes de Banda Real, conocido como Cristian La Güira.

Yo en el bachillerato, con el Algebra de Bardor, en el colegio Gregorio Luperón (El Gregorio),   el enfoque era estudiar, la güira se quedó atrás, porque seguía en mi mente aquellos que me habían dicho,  de que el güirero no era músico, hasta que llegó un sabio que me explicó.

Juan Bosh dijo que el güirero no es músico, porque no lee, porque no tiene que  sujetarse a las notas musicales escritas. No obstante.

Viendo una entrevista que le hizo Wilfrido Vargas, al destacado  escritor y político, Juan  Bosch,   el profesor dice, que el güirero no tiene que sujetarse a las reglas de las notas musicales, pero  que en la práctica es quien lleva el ritmo.

Agrega que sin la  güira y la tambora, que tampoco requiere de lectura, sería imposible hacer un merengue.
